We’ve heard a lot of stories about Whitney Houston once she finally broke free of her toxic relationship with Bobby Brown. We’re all relieved that she got the help she needed are hoping against hope that rehab stuck with her. But since she went back in the studio last year we’ve heard reports both good and back about the singer’s much anticipated comeback.

First, we’ve all concerned every time we see her photographed with Ray J (whose always looking for a way to be noticed) we are secretly hoping she’s not in another crazy relationship.Then there are the reports that she is not in good voice. In fact, we’ve been told that this woman who used to pull notes out of her toes needs singing lessons because of all the damage that her addiction wrought.  Then over the weekend her single “Like I Never Left” with Akon was “leaked”.  

I, for one, think that it wasn’t a leak after all. Instead I think it was a carefully crafted publicity ploy that did exactly what it set out to do (get us talking about Whitney again). And not just talking but believing in Whitney again. I think the man behind the curtain in  legendary music mogul Clive Davis. We haven’t heard much from lately perhaps because he is laying out the plan for our Whitney to climb the charts once again. I know we’re all hoping that he can pull it off.

As for her ability to sing, we’ll just has to wait until she performs live. (We all know that studio wizardry can hide a multitude of sins). Until then, we’ll have to hope (and pray) for the best. Wouldn’t it great if Whitney could star in a comeback story in real life?
