The Skinny on Skinny Pants

Tags: ,

They made their debut in the 60’s, then bell bottoms stole the spotlight in the 70’s; a comeback in the 80’s, and went on a hiatus in the 90’s. Finally they’re back, skinny jeans, the epitome of casual femininity. The reappearance of these booty-hugging pants, are worth hanging onto. Denim, twill, or bold colors, skinnies add a young flirtiness to any outfit. What makes these fitted pants so popular, is that they both accentuate the female shape and they take the guesswork out of choosing a shoe to wear with them.

For a dressier look, opt for a pair of stilettos and skinnies, or for a non-frumpy casual look, a pair of flats are the perfect match. The best thing about this silhouette is that over a four decade run the style never changes. So, even if a few people toss them to the back of their closets, after this year, the smart ones will keep a stash on hand. The look cannot get old if they keep their same girlie appeal season after season.

So before torching your collection of lacy leggings, flushing your cobalt eyeshadow, or painting over that paisley wallpaper, stop here for the latest news on what's worth keeping and which fads to skip all together.
