Earlier this week, I heard about a billboard in New York City’s Time Square supposedly put up by a spurned mistress, YaVaughnie Wilkins. The man in question is none other than Oracle President, Charles E. Phillips, an Obama advisor. Apparently she has money because there were three in NYC, one in Atlanta and one in San Francisco. Gangsta? Definitely. Calculating? Maybe. I do hope we’re not talking tell-all book here. Whatever her motivation the brother has finally admitted that he had an 8 1/2 year affair with Wilkins. This is some messy business.
Did Wilkins know he was married? Depends on who you ask. Now there are unconfirmed reports that Phillips may have been leading a double life or maybe he separated at the time. There were divorce preceding in the works but he has since reconciled with his wife—who lives on the East Coast with their son. In any event, during their time together Phillips and Wilkins certainly did not hide their relationship so she was able to document it on her website with plenty of photos (which along with some of the billboards is down as of this writing). Plus she clearly spent some time plotting this move.
What further complicates the story is the fact that this is all coming out a week before Phillips (who is the face of the company and made $19 million last year) is set to announce a big deal at an all-day meeting next Wednesday. in the company’s Bay Area headquarters. The European Commission has approved Oracle’s acquisition of Sun Microsystems. That’s an important business move but there’s speculation that this whole affair may impact the value of the company’s stock. While I’m sure the pure salacious nature of this story has kept interest alive the fact that it also may impact a company’s stock prices may be the thing that keeps it going at least for another week. Looks like Phillips will learn a hard lesson here—especially if there’s a morals clause in his contract.
This is just another reminder that money doesn’t shield your mess.

I wrote about this, too.
Thank you for not passing judgment and labeling her a psycho, home-wrecker, or worse. Sure, having an affair with a married man is so not cool; however, according to the ‘morsels’ that are out there — they lived together, she spent time with the guy’s son; and, he posted online that he was going to marry her. Uh? I have better things to do with my money — but, you have to give it to the girl for her creativity. Perhaps this guy will end up being Tiger Woods’ roommate.
