Ruffle Mania

ruffle-mania

Nothing says feminine more than ruffles. It’s an accent that is truly a girlie girl’s dream, which is probably why I love it so much. Maybe I’m going a bit overboard right now but I feel like you can’t have too many ruffles in your wardrobe. Blouses and dresses are instantly dazzled up when a little frill is added on and jeans and shorts don’t look casual when you pair them with a ruffled top. Even though it’s everywhere right now, I don’t really see ruffles going away for a while. Here’s my proof…

About two years ago I bought a white button down blouse that had ruffles down the front. Okay so it is a little Prince in Purple Rain but I loved it then and two years later, even with ruffle overload, I love it even more. It’s a trend that has brought back a lady like quality to clothes and that will never grow old.

Have you given in to the ruffle mania trend?

We've all heard those infamous Project Runway words, "in fashion one day you're in and one day you're out." The same truth holds for just about any trend, whether it's clothes, beauty or even home décor. The Last Trend Standing is the spot for discussing which trends were built to last and which were dead wrong from the start. So before torching your collection of lacy leggings, flushing your cobalt eyeshadow, or painting over that paisley wallpaper, stop here for the latest news on what's worth keeping and which fads to skip all together.

this may sound a little elementary but adding ruffles really makes u feel pretty lol. My favorite is a ruffled colar on a button down shirt, it sets you apart from all of the stiff collars @ the office!

I love ruffles! Not only are they feminine as you said, but they are a great throw back to historical fashion (some of them look a little colonial even!) I actually wore a white ruffled top underneath a suit to a job interview once, and the interviewer immediatly commented on how well put-together I was.

Amost year later, I’m still working here:)

PS I love all the shirts that are posted above!

I love, love, love ruffles on shirts. I they are pretty and flirty and draws so much attention away from that plain old button down shirt. My bust is so large and I am so slim that the ruffles actually draw some attention away from my cleavage. PS I actually own the last shirt on the right….lol

    Girl,
I may need to check out your closet! You were right when you said that it’s a girlie girl dream. I own one ruffled shirt but after this blog I will definitely be doing some shopping because one’s appearance can be completely transformed when just the right amount of frills are added.
