Now what would the young, hot, It Girl of the moment have in common with our potential First Lady Michelle Obama? Both made People’s List of Best Dressed Stars of 2008.
Once the 20 year-old Bajan beauty cut her hair first to the much copied angled bob and later to the style Halle used to rock back in the 90s, she has become a striking style icon. And it seems that her fashion choices have gotten better and bolder. I just hope that she doesn’t follow the lead of other singers and do the obligatory clothing line. (I don’t know about you but House of Dereon is not right).
In contrast, Michelle Obama knows how to rock clean lines that have a little something extra.Loved the details on the dresses she wore at the Democratic National Convention. But whether she is wearing Maria Pinto (the Chicago designer she is known to favor) or a more affordable frock (like the one she wore on The View from White House Black Market) she makes it look rich. The secret is in how she carries herself. Grace, poise and confidence are something that will never go out of style.
So it is not only that clothes make the women but it’s the attitude you have while you wear them. Think of that the next time you get dressed in the morning.

It’s too late for the clothing line comment about Rihanna. I read that she’s going to launch one

Speaking of First Lady Michelle Obama:
Michelle Obama is a racial-minority individual, and in her heart and mind she inevitably does not endorse hate crimes committed by George W. Bush.
George W. Bush committed hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism (indicated in my blog).
George W. Bush did in fact commit innumerable hate crimes.
And I do solemnly swear by Almighty God that George W. Bush committed other hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism which I am not at liberty to mention.
Many people know what Bush did.
And many people will know what Bush did—even to the end of the world.
Bush was absolute evil.
Bush is now like a fugitive from justice.
Bush is a psychological prisoner.
Bush has a lot to worry about.
Bush can technically be prosecuted for hate crimes at any time.
In any case, Bush will go down in history in infamy.

I am not sure where I had read it before, but anyway, it is a linguistically excellent statement, and it goes kind of like this: “If only it were possible to ban invention that bottled up memories so they never got stale and faded.” Oh wait—off the top of my head—I think the quotation came from my Lower Merion High School yearbook.
