Last night Mya placed runner up on this season’s “Dancing With The Stars”, as Donny Osmond won the competition. But as a frontrunner since the first round, Mya and her partner Dmitry Chaplin set the standard of excellence for the season.
On Monday night. Mya’s paso doble kicked off the final night of competition with a perfect 30. Next up was the Mega Mix group dance, a chance for the stars to perform identical choreography side by side. Mya won the challenge with her sexy Latin moves and stellar technique. For her freestyle, Mya wanted to bring something fresh to her final performance of the night. The couple performed a fantastic Hairspray routine that was just as vibrant as their costumes. However. the judges expected something more spectacular, and felt the performance didn’t showcase her ability. Mya ended the night with 87 out of 90.
The stars of season 9 aligned for last night’s jam packed finale. Whitney Houston kicked the show with her latest hit single “Million Dollar Bill,” and ended the night with “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” Contestants returned to the dance floor to relive their favorite performances. Tom DeLay even performed his Texas two step, the dance he couldn’t perform when he was injured. Even Miss Piggy made a special appearance. While the other contestants performed for fun, the finalists, Mya, Donny Osmond, and Kelly Osbourne, still had work to do. Mya’s final performed a sexy and sassy jive that showcased her talents.
Mya may not have taken home the trophy, but left her mark on “Dancing With The Stars”, as one of the show’s most unforgettable dancers. She and her gorgeous partner Dmitry were a delight to watch. They have set the standard of excellence high for the show’s next crop of stars.
