There are models who make a name for themselves with their crazy antics off the runway and there are others who have choose to make an impact in front of the camera alone. Karen Alexander falls in the latter category. I worked with her for years during my tenure at Elle and will never forget one of covers for the magazine—a profile shot with her hair short and natural. In that photo and every one she’s done Alexander always exudes grace, a down-to-earth quality and an incredible beauty that shines through for all to see.
