Lil’ Kim left the competition last night, stunning the ballroom and tv viewers. Her scores from Monday’s performances left her near the bottom of the leader board. Visibly shocked, she held her head high and handled the news with grace. Her now good friend Derek Hough said he loved her, and that she was one of his favorite partners, before lifting her for one final spin on the dance floor.
The semifinals of “Dancing With The Stars” starts next week, and like “American Idol”, is more a showcase of the season’s best rather than a competition. At this point, viewers have their favorites, and this show truly lost a fan favorite last night. Lil’ Kim has been one of the best from the start, and has showcased her growth, talent— and yes, her “bionic booty” —all season. She is already an all-star.
Gilles Marini will probably keep the spice, and the other contestants will be entertaining as wel, but Lil’ Kim’s extra spark will be missed on the dance floor.
