I’ve been following Mya on Twitter since the beginning of her journey on “Dancing With The Stars”. Last week she tweeted that the Argentine tango was the hardest dance of the competition so far. But her performance on Monday night looked effortless. Mya and Dmitry’s chemistry is undeniable, and to watch them glide across the dance floor is stunning vision of grace and perfect technique.
The pair impressed all of the judges, even their toughest critic, Len. Even Bruno’s comments were constructive, saying that Mya is “precise with a great sense of sophistication.” However, the judges encouraged Mya to remember to keep an emotional connection with the audience. In order for Mya to win the competition, it’s very important that she remains accessible to the audience. In reality, her fiercest competition are the show’s bigger personalities, from Donny Osmond and his legion of diehard fans (who topped the leader board for the first time this week), to the cheekiness of goth-turned-glam princess Kelly Osbourne.
Tuesday night’s elimination show included acoustic performances from Norah Jones, and a moving tribute to Michael Jackson, highlighting some of the King’s most memorable choreography.
Natalie Coughlin and her partner Alec were sent home.
All in all, Mya has proven herself to be the one to beat. Mya would make an excellent pro on the next season of Dancing.
