DWTS Recap: Mya’s On Fire

I haven’t seen the lambada since my Grandma attempted it in the 80s at a family party in Queens. Well, Mya and Dmitry’s was nothing like my Grandma’s. The two got overwhelming praise from the judges, Their score of 28 secured their spot at the top of the leaderboard and eased them into the next week of competition. Pop star Aaron Carter and model Joanna Krupa also performed the lambada. But out of the three, Mya was the only star to earn two perfect tens from Carrie Ann and Bruno.

Dmitry and Mya worked on the choreography together with a level of a sophistication that put her in a league above her competition. The dance not only earned top scores, but also more inappropriate and lustful comments from Bruno.

Mya is the queen of the ballroom. I predict many more standing ovations in her future.
