On Monday night, Mya not only got to show off her exquisite dance moves, she also got to be a fashion designer. She designed an elegant purple dress for herself, and a suit that made Dmitry look more beautiful, if that’s even possible. Mya and Dmitry performed a foxtrot with a special ode to the Hollywood stylings of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. The performance got the crowd to their feet, but failed to impress Len for another week. Bruno felt the foxtrot perfectly captured the Old Hollywood era, and said Mya looked like a dream and danced like an angel. Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno, and praised Mya for her elegance and precision on the dance floor.
NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin and Iron Chef star Mark Dacascos left the competition on Tuesday’s elimination show. Mya is safe for another week, but the competition is getting tougher. She must find a way to connect with the audience to remain a frontrunner.
In order to break her plateau, she needs to combine her precision with personality to dominate the leader board.
