Designer Donna Karan may not be a sister but her clothes are cut to flatter sister’s body. And her latest effort, Urban Zen T-Shirts ($65) are good on two fronts: they make you look good and they give back. My favorite: The Future of Our Children Tee because it directly echoes Urban Zen’s goal to both empower children and equip them for life with love compassion and strength. Check all the tees out at tonic.com.

Corynne Corbett is That Black Girl Blogging. She has always been passionate about empowering women to find ways to make their lives better. She has spent her career writing and editing for as well as speaking to women about their mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Some of what she has noticed is strange, disturbing, comical and downright unbelievable. It makes her say hmmm…. or it makes her want to holler. Ultimately she wants you to know what effect these things have on black women’s lives.
