In a lot of ways Tracy Chapman is a throwback to the 1960s folk era. She’s a black woman with a guitar singing songs of protests and other profound messages. Yet black radio doesn’t dare play her music and that’s a shame. Although some of us haven’t heard her music since “Fast Car” and “Revolution” she’s been busy making music ever since. Our Bright Future is her latest effort. This summer Chapman started her tour in Europe but this month she’s bringing her melodious sounds much closer to home. She’ll be  playing in Philly, NYC, Washington DC, Baltimore, Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Los Angeles and San Francisco before the month is out. Seeing her live is a rare treat.
