Continuing on my theme of scentual pleasures this week, I’ve turned my eye toward candles today. I’m not into florals but I do like fruits like Henri Bendel Fig Candle ($26), which is a mix of fruit and a touch of sandalwood and other yummy scents. It’s a perfect addition to help make your home even cozier on a snowy day.

I love great scents in my home and I’m also captivated by the many ways it can be delivered. I like this What’s Your Angle? Oil Candle $88 because it takes an ancient idea and turns it on its ear. You can use smokeless lamp oil—either scentless and colorful or choose a fragranced oil. Plus the base is made from something called Paperstone—a solid material made from post-recyclable products. So basically your home can look good and you can also do good.

This beautiful candle reminds of those look but don’t touch (or God forbid) use things in the house like guest towels. But the good thing about Illume’s Glacial Jars ($32) is that these fragrant treats are made to be burned. And you can keep the jar to stash some essentials on your vanity after all the wax is gone. I’m partial to the richer aromas like Kashmir and Amber Glow but you can’t go wrong with any of them.
