Attention, all you entertainers angling for a spot on the historic Inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama, it looks like most (if not all) of the slots have been filled. Rumor had it that an invitation was extended to fellow Chicago native Jennifer Hudson, but given the recent tragic events that have impacted her family, she may have declined. I can’t believe that I’m going to admit this but I still pull out the same old music come holiday season. Sure, I’ve made some additions over the years but I am still partial to The Jackson 5, The Temptations and the smooth sound of Nat King Cole. And I know I’m not the only one. But judging from recent appearances by Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr., and most recently, Brian McKnight, holiday music can be pretty lucrative (either that or all of these artists are terribly sentimental).  Read the full story

Today’s news about a foreclosure notice being filed on Aretha Franklin’s home over back taxes and fees is just one reason I am worried about The Queen of Soul. While she spends time quibbling about how Beyonce introduced Tina Turner at the Grammy’s she should be watching what was going on around her own castle. But when we all see Aretha these days, we all don’t want to say what is on our minds: Just seeing her is cause for concern because she is looking dangerouly unhealthy.
