We already know that Hollywood is good at recycling ideas and sometimes that’s a good thing. But other times, a bad remake can have you shaking your head in disbelief. Here’s a list of remakes that worked and other that didn’t translate the formula so well the second time around.
The Nutty Professor

Eddie Murphy does a decent job of taking the Jerry Lewis classic and turning it on its ear. And when he donned the fat suit and played his whole family it was kind of fun (until he took that trick and used it almost every movie afterward). Neither the original or the remake would win any awards but they're both a good way to spend an afternoon.
