There must be something in the water in Detroit, particularly the water that politician’s drink. I am happy to report that the latest political shenanigans have nothing to do with Kwame or Christine. This time it is Council President Pro-Tem, Monica Conyers (wife of John) who got caught up in a messy scandal. Read the full story

It is heartbreaking to see what Parkinson’s disease has done to Muhammad Ali. The man who dubbed himself “The Greatest” was never a man who was short on words. To refresh your memory, pick up this new DVD ($9.98) to see his journey in and out of the ring. From vintage Cassius Clay interviews through his early retirement years. This is a priceless piece of history.

Wow, it’s been a more than a minute since we’ve seen Joie Lee (you know director Spike Lee’s little sister who appeared in almost all of his early flicks). Not just annoyed but I better add perplexed, vexed and a bit ashamed and perhaps dumbfounded to the mix too. The network did both a disservice to its audience as well as the Jackson family for what, a ratings gambit? Debra Lee, I hope you’re happy. I can guarantee you that I am not the only viewer who was not. We won’t soon forget the tribute that wasn’t (especially when we get to see some real honest-to-goodness ones). Hey Cathy Hughes are you listening? Read the full story
The show itself may have been all over the place but the sisters came out looking like they had at all together (for the most part).
